Refund policy
General Cancellation
Marathon Coaches reserves the right to cancel a service if there has been insufficient bookings to make the service financially sustainable. In this scenario, the company will notify you as early as possible via the email address provided during booking.
If we cancel a service or there are insufficient seats due to accidental overbooking or other unforeseen reasons, you may claim a refund from Marathon Coaches.
General Refunds
Our refund policy is designed to provide clarity and fairness while ensuring services can operate sustainably.- Refunds will be made by us via the method of payment you used to make your online purchase.
- Refunds issued could take up to 21 working days to process.
- Cancellations and refunds requested for any of our services across our website (bus tickets, car parking and/or park & ride) will incur an administrative fee of €5 per ticket.
- Once a booking is made for a specific departure time, this cannot be changed. You may request to cancel your ticket and rebook at an available departure time. This cancellation will incur an administrative fee of €5 per ticket.
- No refunds or changes will be made within 7 days of an event.
Slane 2026 Refund Policy (Event Specific)
- Refunds will be made by us via the method of payment you used to make your online purchase.
- Refunds issued could take up to 21 working days to process.
- Cancellations and refunds requested for Slane Bus Services 2026 will incur an administrative fee of €10 per ticket.
- Once a booking is made for a specific departure time, this cannot be changed. You may request to cancel your ticket and rebook at an available departure time. This cancellation will incur an administrative fee of €10 per ticket.
- No refunds or changes will be made within 21 days of an event or once the bus service has sold out, whichever occurs first.
- Please email us at orders@marathoncoaches.ie with your booking reference number and explicit confirmation that you are happy to proceed with cancelling your bus ticket at a fee of €10 per ticket.
Important Note on Cooling-Off Period
Under consumer law, the 14-day cooling-off period that usually applies to online purchases does not apply to bus transport services. For further details, please see Excluded Purchases on Citizens Information.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, please email us at orders@marathoncoaches.ie with your booking reference number and explicit confirmation that you are happy to proceed with cancelling your bus ticket at a fee of €5 per ticket.
Due to the large volume of emails received, this process may take up to 72 hours from the time we receive your confirmation of cancellation and payments could take up to 21 working days to process. Please note, you can only avail of a cancellation/refund up to 7 days prior to the event.
