Travelling by Train
Irish Rail provides convenient connections to Dublin City Centre. From Tara Street Station, it is a 30-minute walk to the Marathon departure point on Earlsfort Terrace. Alternatively, walk the short distance to D’Olier Street and take the E1, E2 or 40 bus directly to Earlsfort Terrace.
Travelling by Bus
Dublin Bus operates frequent services from D’Olier Street and O’Connell Bridge that drop you within a 1-minute walk of Earlsfort Terrace bus stop 1013. Buses depart every hour from 14:00 to 18:00 from Earlsfort Terrace to the Marlay Park Coach Park (College Road Entrance).
What is the journey time from Dublin City Centre to Marlay Park?
On a normal day, the journey takes approximately 45 minutes.
On concert days, please allow up to 90 minutes of extra travel time due to road closures, concert traffic, and regular Dublin congestion.
Where do Marathon Group buses drop off at Marlay Park?
Buses drop off at the on-site bus compound within the College Road entrance and exit of the park. This is the closest drop-off point to the concert entrance.

Important:
Please ensure you exit the park via the College Road Exit and follow the signs for “Dublin City Centre Coaches.”
If you exit via the wrong gate, you will not be able to re-enter the venue and may miss your bus.
What time do the buses return from Marlay Park after the concert?
Return buses will begin loading from approximately 22:30 and will depart as they fill until queues are cleared (estimated completion by 23:30).
Marathon Group cannot accept any liability for delays caused by traffic or congestion leaving the venue. Please allow extra time when planning onward travel connections.
Where do Marathon Group buses drop passengers in Dublin City after the Marlay Park concert?
After the concert, buses will return to two city centre stops:
Stop 1: Bachelor’s Walk
Stop 2: Nassau Street
Note: Returning buses will not drop back to Earlsfort Terrace. No other stops are permitted.
Do I need to pre-book my Marathon Group bus ticket for Marlay Park?
Yes, our Marlay Park services usually sell out in advance.
We strongly recommend booking your return ticket early to secure your place and the best price.
Do you sell single (one-way) bus tickets for Marlay Park?
No. All Marlay Park bus tickets are return only, covering both your outbound and return journeys.

I’ve bought a return ticket for Marlay Park but will make my own way to the concert. Can I still use the bus after the event?
Yes, you can use the return service only.
Please exit via the College Road side of the park and proceed to the Marathon Coaches Bus Departure Point:

Make sure you have your bus ticket (unscanned QR code) ready to present on your phone or device at the bus stop.
Note: If your ticket has already been scanned, it will no longer be valid, and you’ll need to purchase a new ticket.
How does my Marathon Group bus ticket for Marlay Park work?
Each ticket includes a unique scannable QR code.
Your code will be scanned at the bus stop and exchanged for a wristband, which acts as your return bus ticket.
Do not share or screenshot your ticket — only the original digital ticket will scan correctly.
If your ticket has already been scanned, it is no longer valid.
What happens if I lose my wristband for the Marlay Park bus service?
Please keep your wristband on for the duration of the event, as it’s required for your return journey.
If you lose it, you’ll need to purchase a new ticket at the bus stop. Your original ticket will have already been scanned and cannot be reused.
Can I change my Marlay Park bus departure time after booking?
To amend your booking, email orders@marathoncoaches.ie.
A €5 cancellation fee per person will apply, and you will need to rebook your desired time.
Can I cancel my Marathon Group bus ticket for Marlay Park?
Refunds will be processed via your original payment method and may take up to 21 working days.
Cancellations incur a €5 fee per ticket.
No refunds or changes are permitted within 7 days of the event.
Departure times cannot be changed — you will need to cancel and rebook.
Are there toilets on the Marathon Group buses to Marlay Park?
No, toilets are not available on our concert buses. Please use the facilities before boarding. Buses are not licensed to make stops en route.
Can I drink alcohol on the Marathon Group buses to Marlay Park?
In line with traffic laws, alcohol is not permitted on any Marathon Group bus services.
Anti-social behaviour is not tolerated on our buses. In the interest of driver and passenger safety, Marathon Group reserves the right to refuse admission to our buses. No refunds will be issued in these cases.
How do I report lost property from the Marlay Park bus service?
All property is carried on our bus services at your own risk. Marathon Group accepts no liability for lost, damaged or misplaced items. Please check behind you before leaving the bus!
