General FAQ
Do I need to print out my bus ticket?
You do not need to print your bus ticket. When you book your ticket make sure to download your bus ticket to your mobile device so it can be scanned at the bus stop and exchanged for a wrist band.
You will have received your Bus E-tickets from orders@marathoncoaches.ie. Please ensure you download your tickets and have them in either:
iPhone:Saved to your apple Wallet
Android:Saved as a PDF
Please ensure to have the barcode/QR present on your mobile device and saved ticket ready to scan when you reach the bus stop.
If you have booked for more than one person you transfer them their tickets so that they can store them on their own portable devices by clicking the booking link on your confirmation, email you received. Click Transfer Ticket and enter their email address.
I have a bus ticket booked but I want to change the time?
Due to the demand of the event, our bus services are very busy. We ask all patrons to adhere to the bus time selected at the time of booking. We are unable to guarantee a seat on a service other than what is listed on your ticket.
We are unable to change your times internally, the only alternative would be for us to cancel your original booking and for you to re-book an available time.
Please note there is a cancellation charge of €5 per bus ticket applicable for any cancellations issued. If you would like to proceed with this option, please email us at orders@marathoncoaches.iewith your booking reference number and explicit confirmation that you are happy to proceed with cancelling your bus ticket at a fee of €5 per bus ticket.
Due to the large volume of emails received, this process could take up to 72 hours from receiving your confirmation of cancellation. Please note, you can only avail of a cancelation/refund up-to 7 days prior to the event.
I need to cancel my bus ticket, how can I do this?

Lost Property?
All property is carried on our bus services at your own risk.
Marathon Coaches excepts no liability for lost, damaged or misplaced items.
Lost property will be logged 5 working days after an event. If you have lost property and want to enquire if it has been found, please email orders@marathoncoaches.ie.
Can I drink alcohol on the bus?
In line with traffic laws, no alcohol is permitted on any Marathon Group Bus Services. There will be checks in place at the bus stop to ensure this bylaw is adhered to.
You can store your alcohol in the hold of the coach en route to the festival. No alcohol is permitted in the cabin of the coach.
Can I use my current ticket on a different departure time?
No, your booking and bus ticket are only valid for the departure time shown on your ticket. Your seat is guaranteed for that specific service. If you miss your bus, we’ll do our best to accommodate you on the next available departure, but priority will be given to passengers booked on that service.
What happens if I miss my bus?
It is your responsibility to arrive on time, as our buses cannot wait for latecomers. If you miss your outbound journey, we’ll do our best to get you on the next available service. Return buses will depart from the designated concert pickup point at the scheduled time and cannot wait for latecomers.
I booked online but cannot fund my bus ticket
If you paid using Apple Pay or Google Pay, please check the email address linked to that account for your bus tickets. If you still can’t locate them, email orders@marathoncoaches.ie with your full name, email address, and details of the service you booked, and we’ll resend your tickets.
Can I use my return ticket for only the journey home?

Do I need to book my bus ticket in advance?
We strongly recommend booking your bus tickets in advance to secure early bird rates and guarantee your seat. Seats may not be available to purchase at the bus stop on the day of travel.
Is my seat on the bus guaranteed if I book in advance?
Yes, your seat is guaranteed for the departure time and location listed on your bus ticket. We cannot guarantee a seat on any other service outside of your original booking.
Is it the same price for adults and children?
Yes unless indicated otherwise it is the same price for an adult or a child on any of our bus services.
Do I need to book by child a bus ticket?
Yes, all passengers must have a valid bus ticket. Passengers under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Marathon is not responsible for unaccompanied minors on any of our bus services.
Are your concert and event buses wheelchair accessible?
If you are a wheelchair user and have booked or are planning to book one of our services, please contact us at orders@marathoncoaches.ie. We will coordinate with you on a suitable pick-up time and ensure an accessible vehicle is available.
Are there toilets on your buses?
No, there are no toilets on our concert buses.
Do you offer car parking services at concerts?
Currently we do not offer car parking services at concerts, however we do offer a Park & Ride service from Dundrum to the Marlay Park concerts, this is available to book on our website

Where is the departure location in Dublin City Centre for Marlay Park?
Buses depart promptly from Earlsfort Terrace Bus Stop 1013 at the time selected during the booking process.

Where does the bus drop off at Marlay Park?

How often do buses depart from Dublin to Marlay Park?
Buses depart every hour from 14:00 to 18:00 from Earlsfort Terrace to the Marlay Park Coach Park (College Road Entrance).
What is the journey time from Dublin City Centre to Marlay Park?
On a normal day, the journey takes approximately 45 minutes. On concert days, please allow up to 90 minutes of extra travel time due to road closures, concert traffic and regular Dublin congestion.
What time do the buses return after Marlay Park concerts?
Return buses will begin loading from approximately 22:30 and will depart as they fill until queues are cleared (estimated completion by 23:30).
Where do the buses depart from after the concert?
Return buses depart from the same location as drop-off – the Coach Park at the College Road Entrance.

Important: Please ensure you exit the park via the College Road Exit and follow the signs for “Dublin City Centre Coaches.” If you exit via the wrong gate, you will not be able to re-enter the venue and may miss your bus.
Do I need to pre-book my ticket?
Yes, our services usually sell out in advance.
We strongly recommend booking your return ticket early to secure your place and the best price.
Do you sell single (one-way) tickets for Marlay Park?
No. All Marlay Park bus tickets are return only, covering both your outbound and return journeys.
Where do buses drop passengers after the event at Marlay Park?
After the concert, buses will return to two city centre stops:
- Bachelor’s Walk
- Nassau Street

Make sure you have your bus ticket (unscanned QR code) ready to present on your phone or device at the bus stop.

What happens if I lose my wristband?
Please keep your wristband on for the duration of the event, as it’s required for your return journey.
If you lose it, you’ll need to purchase a new ticket at the bus stop; your original ticket will have already been scanned and cannot be reused.
Marlay Park - Park & Ride FAQ
Where do I park as part of the Park & Ride for Marlay Park?
Your Park & Ride ticket entitles you to all-day parking in Dundrum Town Centre’s Underground Red or Green Car Parks.
Do not park in the Tesco Car Park at Dundrum Town Centre or the Old Shopping Centre Car Park where the bus departs — your ticket does not cover parking in these locations.

How does the Park & Ride work for Marlay Park?
Please park as usual in the Dundrum Town Centre Underground Red or Green Car Park and take your parking ticket on entry.
After parking, proceed to our team desk located at the main entrance to Dundrum Town Centre (near McDonald’s and the water fountains) or at the bus stop.
Our team will scan the ticket you received at purchase and provide you with:
- A validated car park ticket
- Your return wristbands for the bus
The Shuttle Bus departs from Dundrum Old Shopping Centre Car Park, Bus Stop 7981 and operates between 14:30 and 18:30.
You may use any service during this time.

I have more people in my car than are included in my Park & Ride ticket for Marlay Park. What should I do?
No problem — if you have additional passengers travelling, you’ll just need to purchase extra bus tickets for the number of people above what your Park & Ride ticket covers.

How long is the walk from Dundrum Town Centre to the Park & Ride bus stop for Marlay Park?
It’s less than a 5-minute walk. Simply head down Dundrum’s main street — the Old Dundrum Shopping Centre, where the bus departs from, is located directly opposite the Luas stop.
Where does the Park & Ride bus drop off at Marlay Park?
The Dundrum Shuttle bus drops you at Stonemasons Way, approximately a 7-minute walk from the pedestrian entrance/exit to Marlay Park.

Marathon Group operates two services for concerts at Slane Castle:
- Dublin Slane Service – from Northwall Quay in Dublin City Centre
- Navan Slane Service – from the N51 Bus Stop at Navan Park & Ride

Are all bus tickets to St Annes Park Return Bus Tickets?
Yes, all bus tickets on all routes to St Annes Park Concerts are return tickets including your journeys to and from the venue. Subject to availability single tickets may become available closer to the concert date
Do you only stop at the locations listed on the website?
Yes our services only drop and collect from the bus stops listed on the website. However please note where services are not in high demand routes could be combined.
Where do your buses drop off at St. Anne’s Park for the concert?
All our buses on every route to the St Anne’s Park Concert Series will drop off and pick up passengers at the official concert coach park, situated next to the entrance of St Anne’s Park in the grounds of St Paul’s College, Sybil Hill.
What time do your buses depart after the St. Anne’s Park concerts?
All buses will depart from the coach park located within the grounds of St Paul’s College, Sybil Hill. Buses to Dublin City Centre will depart on a rolling basis as they fill between 22:30 and 23:30, with the final departure at 23:30 sharp. Buses on all other routes will depart promptly at 23:00.
Where does the bus depart from in Dublin City Centre for St. Anne’s Park?
Our buses depart promptly from North Wall Quay Bus Stop 7623 at 15:00, 16:00, and 17:00 on each concert date.
Where is Northwall Quay Bus Stop 7623?
The bus stop is located outside the 3Arena, facing the River Liffey. Our team will be on-site to assist and ensure a smooth departure to the concert.
What is the journey time from Dublin City Centre to St Annes Park?
The typical journey time is between 30 to 40 minutes; however, we strongly recommend allowing an extra hour to account for city and concert-related traffic. Marathon cannot accept responsibility for any delays caused by traffic in the vicinity of or en route to the venue.
What is the journey time from St Annes to Dublin City after the concert?
The typical journey time is between 30 to 40 minutes; however, we strongly advise allowing an extra hour to account for city and concert-related traffic. Please note that our movements are subject to the directions of the on-site traffic management team and An Gardaí. We recommend allowing ample time for any onward travel plans, as Marathon cannot accept responsibility for delays or missed connections caused by concert-related traffic.
